Public bug reported:

Starting qtcreator from a terminal result in qtcreator's GUI not showing
and the output in the console is:

javi at carbono:~$ qtcreator
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
javi at carbono:~$

Since the output while doing the bug report using apport-bug was:

javi at carbono:~$ apport-bug qtcreator
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.

(process:30848): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion
'sys_page_size == 0' failed

It's likely that the information in the auto-loaded refer only to the
deprecated use of the fonts, rather than to the crash. The GLib critical
from the apport-bug command is likely to be a bug already reported in
firefox.

The problem migth have to do something with dependencies, since
code::blocks also crashes on startup.
