I also noticed that when I clicked on close after configuring software
sources, it did not update sources.

As an aside, I find the close button very counterintuitive. The reset
button makes perfect sense. Instead, there should be the buttons Reset,
Apply, Okay, and Cancel. Normally when it is functioning correctly, it
runs through the update sources process even if one makes no changes.
This is not desirable behavior, either.
