Excellent, Jamie! The workaround patch I propose has all the time been
intended as a temporary fix that ought to be reverted as soon as a
proper fix - whatever that is - is in place.

But the patch needs to be uploaded by someone, and you unsubscribed
ubuntu-sponsors the other day. :(  Are you ready to upload it now?
