Finally got around to loading that ppa and upgrading.  Bad idea.  kde
now aborts with a segmentation 11 error and I can't find any way to
report the bug to the kubuntu-ppa team except by becoming a member of
the team.

So if you too have a Lenovo W520 (with i7 processor and 16 GB RAM) be
aware that this ppa is broken.
