It looks like that your /etc/default/grub file has been modified.
Perhaps because you've manually edited it in order to apply those "power
saving tweaks".

Try restoring the file:

sudo install -m644 /usr/share/grub/default/grub /etc/default/grub

Followed by continuing the installation:

sudo apt-get install

(if that fails, sudo apt-get install -f)
