I did this as well but nevertheless akonaditray showed up. This is the common way to deactivate akonadi and I suppose everyone who commented this bug disabled akonadi this way since there is no other.
By the way, the problem is not the akonaditray.desktop in ~/.config/autostart but in /usr/share/autostart, that is why you cannot disable it the "easy" way and with every update of kde it reappears.
