[Bug 1040877] [NEW] python-qt4 based apps crash on Quantal

Public bug reported:

I tried a variety of python-qt4 based application on Ubuntu Quantal with
Unity and they all crash using all the memory until the system dies or
the application is killed.

Application I tried:
hplib-toolbox, anki, calibre, eric, trimage

They crash at the moment the main window start painting.
