[Bug 704591] [NEW] ctrl+c copying broken

Public bug reported:

After upgrading from lucid to maverick, copying from qt4 apps using
ctrl+c no longer works. The issue is very similar to a prior bug, and
may be a regression. See

The only difference between what I observe and that bug is that I'm not
seeing any errors on the console.

I wrote down some specific notes about what works and what doesn't in a
thread about Anki, a qt4 app which is affected by the bug. Note in
particular that selecting using the mouse and middle-clicking to paste
does work, and so does copying from the application to itself using
ctrl+c/ctrl+v.
