Forcing the protocol to IMPS2 as in Bug 737051 or Bug 734187 does fix
the scrolling problem and smooths out the pressure required to register
taps.  Unfortunately, it also removes the detection of the touchpad as
an Alps, which means settings are no longer available in System
Settings.
