Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
Both my laptop and desktop had kdm running on maverick, and on upgrading
to natty, when choosing the Ubuntu session I got logged in but with no
UI shell (as far as I could tell). I had compiz running, but no window
decorations or menus. Luckily I had gnome-do running, which I could
bring up a terminal and start unity.
I reconfigured my laptop to use gdm instead of kdm, and when starting
the Ubuntu session, unity started as expected.
