Public bug reported:
when the user home is not at /home/username but e.g. at /home-test/username akonadi will not start
The syslog shows apparmor error messages, which I will append.
There is nothing wrong with the user data: I tried this with a completely new account and with an old account. In both cases akonadi works fine when the home dir is moved back to /home/.
(my use case for having home dirs at different places is to have
automount use /home and to have users with local home dirs at the same
time which are put in /home-local)
