Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: digikam
Hi,
I am using digiKam 1.4.0 in kubuntu 10.10 beta under wubi. When I choose "Import" - "USB Storage Device" and select a partition on an external USB disk the import window comes up but both digiKam windows freeze. The external disk shows activity and I can use the computer otherwise for a while. Then screen freezes. An remote ssh login shows that digiKam is slowly allocating more and more memory. I killed digiKam when it reached 3G virtual memory size and 1.5G memory resources (on a machine with 2G RAM and 2G swap.) However, the screen remains frozen and after another 10 minutes or so I reboot using the remote ssh connection. The situation is well reproducible and also occurs when I choose "Download Photos with digiKam" from the system tray. Since I cannot import my photo albums built up over the last decade, this issue makes digiKam useless for me. Unfortunately.
Any help is highly appreciated!
Cheers,
Johannes
