[Bug 637825] [NEW] kdm scrammbles screen on kde 4.5 logout kubuntu 10.04

When using kde 4.5 through backport repo on kubuntu 10.04 clicking
logout scrambles the screen, making login near impossible. I am using
the proprietary ati driver through "hardware drivers" on an ati 4200 HD
onboard graphics card.

Furthermore, if I drop to a tty and login as normal user, and sudo
service kdm stop and then start it (I think I used startx) your terminal
will be in root mode.

Not sure if the last part is 100% accurate as I did it a few days ago,
will edit if I can test again and have time
