[Bug 660739] [NEW] No audio capture from internal Microphone in HP-Dv9000

Since some updates I did a month ago, I have not been able to use my
computer's internal microphone. Alsa mixer shows capture gauge at max,
sound preferences show input at max, I upgraded to the latest alsa
version 1.0.23. And still I can't get the microphone to work. Sound
recorder shows a very small feedback but nothing can be heard on
playback.

I am reporting this after making fresh installs of Ubuntu 10.04, Xubuntu
10.04, Ubuntu 10.10 and Kubuntu 10.10

ubuntu-bug audio command says there is a problem in alsa-base.conf
