Gnome desktop with 4 workspaces:
- Open a file in kate (in the 2rd workspace)
- Open the same file in a terminal window in the 1st workspace, edit the file and save it
- The kate editor flashes and a notify windows appears in the second workspace
Now what is wrong:
- Click on the button in the bottom bar to reach the notify window and it will move in the 3rd workspace, and so on if you try to reach it. The workspace preview in the bottom bar shows the escaping window.

Workaround
- Press Enter
