Yes, it seems to be this one "Bug 211885 - KMail segfault after starting it"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211885

The solution is to delete:-
~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/search/Last search

The problem occurs randomly after a folder search on a exchange remote folder 
(IMAP) in my case.

It took me a long time to find this in the KDE bug list so hopefully this might 
help others.
