SRU verification for Karmic:
I have reproduced the problem with kpackagekit 0.4.2-0ubuntu3 in karmic and have verified that the version of kpackagekit 0.4.2-0ubuntu3.1 in -proposed fixes the issue. I've verified that kpackagekit can still install/remove packages.
