Thanks for the bug report, Ken.  Even though you installed phonon-4.4.3
earlier, if you don't restart phonon, which probably doesn't happen
until you reboot your computer, then you're not running the new version.
It seems like you might have a problem with the new version.

Some debugging questions: Do other apps have their audio working?  If
not, can you check and make sure the upgrade didn't reset your volume
controls to muted or really low volume?  If these don't work, start
going through the suggestions here[1] for troubleshooting your sound,
and consider this page [2] for its resources as well.

In the meantime, you can try installing the old version of phonon and
see if that fixes things.  If so, it should be pretty easy to figure out
which change caused the problem you're having.
