Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kile

My System is a PowerPC G4 with kubuntu 9.10 and the kile
(1:2.1.0~svn1014763beta2-1ubuntu1) is insalled from the repository.

Just that you know, I am using texlive 2009.

This issue also comes up on my x68_64 Kubuntu 9.10 with kile
(1:2.1.0~svn1014763beta2-1ubuntu1) also installed from repository and
texlive 2009.

When using the 'auto bracket' feature of the editor and the 'complete
environment \begin{...} \end{...}' feature of kile the same time the
output is sub optimal. To reproduce this issue activate both features
and type:

'\begin{' (here the auto bracketing feature inserts the closing '}' but
the cursor remains in before it)

then you type on 'ite' because you want an itemize environment and press
enter after the 'ite'. So the complete environments feature adds:

'mize}
\item
\end{itemize}
'

but in the last line now, the closing } bracket is left and not removed,
so that we get the following code:

\begin{itemize}
\item
\end{itemize}
}

I am aware of that it could be a little bit tricky to sort this out, but
I think it would be worth it, because it causes some hard to point to
latex compile errors mentioning some missing brackets some where.

** Affects: kile (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
