I really like the power and flexibility of K3B, but this is my only
gripe so far.  IMHO there at least needs to be the option.

The other thing (for me, anyways), is it will remember your last image
selected and start churning your HDD to calc the md5 on that
automatically first.   Normally this can just be an annoyance, but I can
think of cases where this is harmful, one example being a laptop where
it sucks your battery life.

(In general I'm not a fan of the trend where software is trying to be
smarter than the human operator, helpfully(?) deciding what they want to
do or what's good for them.)
