Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
Recently, I found the Enable/Disable Tiling shortcut in the KWin Keyboard shortcuts (see screenshot).
IMHO a very useful feature. I name it Auto-Tile in the following text.
Unfortunally, it was not useful in a multi screen configuration, because the layout area would be limited to only one screen.
Further, when having virtual desktops (I usually work with 4 virtual desktops), I find it unfortunally, that Auto-Tile was applied to all virtual desktops at once.
IMHO it should be possible to activate Auto-Tile for each virtual desktop separatly.
When having GIMP open (which consist of numerous windows), the Auto-Tile only respects GIMP's main drawing window and ignores GIMP's toolwindows totally.
Nearby, I have one feature request for Auto-Tile.
When Auto-Tile is active, no window resize is possible.
It would be nice if resize could be allowed to make the user able have influence to the layout.
Thanks in advance,
May I able to change these issues by myself?
I'd no knowledge about QT, but some years experience of C and C++.
Is there a short and compact tutorial on how to get the required sources, compiling & test my changes?
