Same comment as #7: I have the problem with my mom's installation (she
uses kmail) on an nfs-mounted home dir. That's quite strange (apart from
the fact that a mail client needs a fulblown database server); also: I
fixed it by moving the entire akonadi directory out of the way (bit of a
brute-force way I admit).
