with this new release  most of my bigs where fixed ( http://www.digikam.org/ )
003 ==> 241782 : Tags, comments, author, etc. not written to metadata.
008 ==> 243747 : Comment which is stored in database can't be accessed via digiKam.
013 ==> 212848 : Crashed in slideshow while viewing.
016 ==> 243692 : digiKam uses all memory with thumbnails.
025 ==> 246675 : Crash on startup/scanning folders.
the 1.4 release  is just a bugfixrelease (only 1 "new" feature > AdvancedRename : New modifier "Remove Doubles".)
and it could be the last release for the 1.x before 2.0 series. i hope it will find the way in this great 10.10 release
