[Bug 617737] [NEW] Slow desktop effects (KDE 4.5)

Binary package hint: kde-window-manager

When turning on desktop effects under KDE 4.5, they are terribly slow. glxgears performance drops down from about 3000 fps to 800 fps.
I'm using a Lenovo T400s with Intel graphics, Ubuntu 10.04 with KDE 4.5 backports. Same problem occurs with Kubuntu 10.10 alpha 3. 
The problem does not occur with desktop effects under Gnome, glxgears stays hight.
