You said you were using WPA Enterprise/TTLS/PAP.

There is an anonymous Identity with a certificate. Did you leave this
option blank? Or did you use System CA Certs?

A friend of mine is using Jaunty. The login works on that machine. I
think he's using a similar version of NetworkManager concerning the
issue you linked to?
