[Bug 422746] [NEW] No flash sound with newer linux kernels

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

Flash sound is only available when booting using the Linux kernel
2.6.31-5.  I have three options on startup.  This is the only kernel
which allows flash sound.  Have tried to debug and find solutions via
the internet.  Newer kernels prevent sound.  Am Linux novice - first
Kubuntu, first Linux.  Downloaded Kubuntu this past weekend - Kubuntu
Karmic Alpha 3 version 9.10.  Have accepted all package updates.
