There is definitely a reliable method available, as 'iwconfig <dev> enc
s:<ascii key>' works every time. In fact, I usually do this on the
machine and read the hex key from iwconfig's output to come up with the
hex key I need for these new incarnations of the GUI. It's definitely
not plug-and-play but works once saved. But if iwconfig can handle it,
why can't these GUI's?
