[Bug 443258] [NEW] kmenuedit freezes then crashes when it is used

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace-bin

upon opening kmenuedit , it gets very, very, very slow and then freezes
and then crashes

this happens every time, right click on the k menu and choose Menu Editor and it happens
I had expected to be able to peruse or even edit the menu without it freezing, ideally without it slowing down either.
