Similar issue here - I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 a few days ago and my
digikam does not work any longer:

philipp at computer:~$ digikam
digikam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/qt4/plugins/phonon_backend/phonon_xine.so: undefined symbol: _ZN9QHashData13detach_helperEPFvPNS_4NodeEPvEPFvS1_Ei

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

philipp at computer:~$ which digikam
/usr/local/bin/digikam

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

philipp at computer:~$ apt-cache policy digikam

In addition I'll add the same info as the original poster did:
