[Bug 380074] [NEW] System Monitor - Network Settings shows no interfaces

Since upgrading to Karmic, the System Monitor - Network Settings widget
no longer shows the status of the network.  The list of interfaces is
blank.

This may be related to:  https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187979

The messages there seem to indicate that it's a side-effect of not
having wireless support enabled.  Which, though I can toggle in Network
Manager, does no good for me since there's no wireless hardware in the
system experiencing the problem.
