I too upgraded from Ubuntu 9.10 to 9.04 and now have this same problem
with Amarok.

Also, I just installed kgpg and when I try to launch it I get
kgpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5: undefined symbol: qt_locale_initialized

So I tried a another KDE based program
kget: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5: undefined symbol: qt_locale_initialized

so perhaps it is not an Amarok issue.
