Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: okular
The usual workflow of a Latex user is to modify the source file, then
compile, view the result, find a point that needs further edit, return
to the source. As sources can be multi-file, it is necessary to have
both forward and backward links between the previewer and the editor.
Traditionally, emacs+xdvi was a combination of programs that supported
both the functionality. In "modern" systems, kile+kdvi could be used for
the same purpose. Since when ubuntu switched to kde 4.2, as okular
supports inverse search in dvi files, kdvi was dismissed. However this
breaks the workflow for many latex users.
Okular needs to support forward searches (these are in the form of a
command line argument). Kile configurations should be modified
accordingly (it should be extremely easy, and can be done by end-users
in the configuration GUI in any case).
