I am also experiencing slow response with the Jaunty provided version of
Kile. The about box gives me: "Version 2.0.81, Using KDE 4.2.2 (KDE
4.2.2)", I am running Gnome with subpixel smoothing using a decent free
font (liberation mono) and the intel graphics driver (running compiz). I
noticed a speedup with the '-graphicssystem raster' command, but still
it feels much less responsive than it used to feel in the previous
release, especially when selecting text, the selection comes a second
later.
