[Bug 261380] Re: Packages have invalid .gnu_debuglink

I guess one thing that needs revisiting in Karmic is the proposed
migration to dbgsym packages. Is there some page to track progress on
this, not only in qt but all over Ubuntu?

By the way, how about backports? Would it make sense to backport the
patch to hardy, which is a LTS after all? In its current state, the
debug packages are almost unusable. Unfortunately, fixing the debug
packages without rebuilding the other packages would be a major effort,
so I'd not do this. At the next opportunity when packages need to be
updated to fix some other issues, it might make sense to fix this one as
well. What do you think?
