If you're willing to try the svn version, it's available at
https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-experimental/+archive/ppa

It's working here some of the time (for hidden essid), but had to reboot
3 times.  Ever since, it's worked.  So, if you want to help devel, give
it a go.
