Having updated to Janty Beta this morning, things appear much improved.
The connection disconnects but reconnects itself without intervention.
Running NetworkManager with --no-daemon I see the following errors
listed, not sure if these relate to all the disconnects but are probably
at least some of them.

NetworkManager: <info> Activation (wlan0) Stage 5 of 5 (IP Configure Commit) complete.
NetworkManager: <info>  (wlan0): device state change: 8 -> 3
NetworkManager: <info>  (wlan0): deactivating device (reason: 0).
NetworkManager: <info> wlan0: canceled DHCP transaction, dhcp client pid 19201
NetworkManager: <info>  (wlan0): removing resolv.conf from /sbin/resolvconf
-- Error received: Numerical result out of range
-- Original message: type=0x19 length=56 flags=<REQUEST,ACK> sequence-nr=1238157499 pid=4204341
NetworkManager: <WARN>  check_one_route(): (wlan0) error -34 returned from rtnl_route_del(): Sucess

NetworkManager: <info>  Activation (wlan0) starting connection '<ESSID>'

I don't see any similar issues if I use wpa_supplicant and dhclient
directly.
