I'm sorry, but what is that argument? You guys will replace the entire KDE notification system with your self-made one in 9.10. So you accept that users may lose their data because Aaron Seigo says so? Newsflash: He also argued against your custom notification system. Does it mean that you're gonna drop that one, too?? As Rob Scheepmaker wrote in his initial mail to which Aaron replied: "We've discussed the systemtray on Tokamak and came up with a lot of stuff that can make the way jobs are handled a lot better. This won't help for 4.2 though."
Why is Aaron's opinion more important than Rob's and all the others' who were confused by 4.2's default behaviour? As Rob said, there are already plans for improvements in 4.3. So I don't know which kind of feedback Aaron expects except "The 4.2 behaviour is confusing."

OK, whatever. I don't really care -- at least not about Kubuntu. I'm not
using Kubuntu. I thought that preventing users' data loss across various
distros just helps KDE. So go on and give you users the false impression
that a no longer visible progress bar means that the transfer was
finished and either the USB stick can be safely disconnected or the PC
can be shut down. It happened to me, it happened to this guy in the same
thread as Aaron's reply: http://www.mail-archive.com/plasma-
devel at kde.org/msg03885.html and it happened to quite a few other people
whose blog posts I read. I thought that modifying the default setting is
easy and a better solution than lots of confused users....
