In that case, why not remove krec from the official repository? If a
package is in the official repository, people will expect that it is
under a certain defined quality control, which obviously isn't the case
here.

I spent half a day trying to fix my Linux sound system/head phone/mixer
settings only to find that krec is broken. This creates a very bad
experience with Ubuntu. I definitely hope that other users won't
experience the same thing.
