I can also confirm this.

Knetworkmanager applet does not support wpa2 over cable at all (as far
as i can tell). I'm allso a user of Eduram at my university in Norway,
and it's impossible to connect without using wpa_supplicant and manual
configuration.

This is my configuration with wpa-supplicant:
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=admin
          ap_scan=0
          network={
               # key_mgmt=IEEE8021X
                key_mgmt=WPA-EAP # WPA-PSK IEEE8021X NONE
               pairwise=CCMP TKIP
                group=CCMP TKIP WEP104 WEP40
               eap=TTLS PEAP TLS
               identity="XXXXXX at XXXXXX.no"
               password="XXXXXXXXX"
               eapol_flags=0
          }
I load it with "wpa_supplicant -Dwired -ieth0 -c/home/XXXXX/wpa.conf -B". It's not pretty, but it works.

I hope there will be a fix, because there are many students connecting
to the internet with Eduroam and wpa2.
