First of all i have to say that i am not sure if this is the right place
since the bug i am reporting appeared in Kubuntu. But i do not seem to
find Kubuntu in launchpad.

Yesterday i checked the update manager and i had 6 blocked updates (they
were present since i installed the new version, something like a week
ago), 4 of them were about the kernel and 2 for amarok. I did not seem
to be able to unblock them, i even enabled unsupported and pre-released
updates, just in case.So i went to the terminal and used sudo apt-get
dist-upgrade to check what could be happening. My surprise: It updated
straight away, no packages held back or anthing.

The version of Kpackagekit is ; kpackagekit 04-0ubuntu 8.01
Version of kubuntu; 9.04 (32 bits)ubuntu-bug kpackagekit]
