Ok, I did install ubuntu interpid desktop from the official CD in french
update the system: 
# apt-get dist-upgrade

add your ppa, install kstars:
# apt-get upate && apt-get install kstars

install language-pack-kde-fr language-pack-kde-fr-base:
# apt-get install language-pack-kde-fr language-pack-kde-fr-base

Launch kstars in a console. right click on the moon, select "Page
wikipedia", and i got the same error.

if you need more info just ask, i'll be glad to answer.
