I can reproduce this bug on Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10. I have not installed
KDE but the versions shown are:
kmouth - 1.1.1
kde = k.3.2
Here are the steps to reproduce:
1 - sudo apt-get install festival kmouth
2 - echo 123 | /usr/bin/festival --tts
3 - "One Hundred Twenty Three" plays through the speakers
4 - launch kmouth for the first time
5 - enter "/usr/bin/festival --tts" into "Command for speaking texts:" field.
6 - Character encoding is Local UTF8.
7 - Check "Send the data as standard input"
8 - Uncheck "Use KTTSD speech service if possible".
9 - Click NEXT
10 - Click NEXT
11 - Click FINISH
12 - Enter some text into the SPEAK field then click SPEAK.
13 - The text appears in the history but the speech is never played through the speakers.
