[Bug 491908] [NEW] Via Synaptic, I tried to install Kivio. (I wasn't interested in koffice, so Synaptic loaded what it took for Kivio.) The installation failed. However, Kivio works on the machine, so it really wasn't a failure in my view.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: koffice

Not much information, really. I'm not sure this is a bug because
Synaptic did what I wanted (installed Kivio). Kivio works correctly as
far as I can tell.

Note, this is a newly upgraded machine using 9.10. The machine was
first loaded with 8.10, then upgraded to 9.04, and then to 9.10 (in case
that helps).

Machine is running fine, and so is Kivio, so I don't see a problem.

ronc at falcon:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10
ronc at falcon:~$

ronc at falcon:~$ apt-cache policy kivio
kivio:
  Installed: 1:1.6.3-7ubuntu10
  Candidate: 1:1.6.3-7ubuntu10
  Version table:
 *** 1:1.6.3-7ubuntu10 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

As for what I expected, I simply expected Kivio to be installed. What
happened is that it installed, but for whatever reason, an error message
was registered.

Thanks for all the hard work. We appreciate it.
