Same bad behaviour here with intel hardware.

It seems that the "Multiple Monitors" section is designed to work only with xinerama
(indeed the service called when you click on this section is called 'xinerama': try
"kcmshell4 xinerama")
but xinerama is deprecated (according to Xorg) !
