Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: digikam
Digikam is not working after my upgrade to ubuntu Jaunty 9.04
It shows this error:
digikam
digikam: error while loading shared libraries: libexiv2.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
After a little research, I see that jaunty's exiv2 package installed a more recent version of the library:
$ ls /usr/lib/libexiv2*
/usr/lib/libexiv2.a /usr/lib/libexiv2.so /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.5.2.0
/usr/lib/libexiv2.la /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.5
I tried removing (purging) both digikam and exiv2 but could not correct
the issue.
A quick hack (sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.5 /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.4)
didn't help, digikam starts loading but terminates before showing the
main window
** Affects: digikam (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
