I have the same problem.

I'm using xrestop, and I see that plasma is constantly growing even if
Im doing nothing.

The pixmaps mem grows constantly at speed of 0.1 mb / second

This bug seems at least High importance imho.

Ubuntu 8.10 amd64, Intel laptop (8 mb gfx). I have 2nd monitor (VGA)
connected, I use kde.
