Similar bug seems to appear now in Dolphin (Jaunty x64 / kubuntu)

When opening directly 'network' -> 'samba shares' in dolphin everything
works.

However, when I want to add a network share as entry in 'places' panel,
the system behaves as described in original report.

Steps to reproduce;

Right-click 'places' in dolphin
Select 'add entry'
Select 'open file dialog'
Select 'network'
Click 'network services' or 'samba shares' (others? These appear in my case).
Both these attempts fail with different kind of reference to zeroconf.
