Just add the lines and see what happens. I really don't think the KDE pam files are at fault here, since I created them ... and I am quite confident of my work ;-)
This also would explain why your screen locks even though you didn't
turn it on (KDE and xscreensaver don't share those settings, even though
it is possible that xscreensaver invokes the krunner_lock).
So, please just try to make the xscreensaver pam look like
kscreensaver's and report back :)
Note: If I recall correctly kcheckpass is actually used by krunner_lock,
so you might also want to take a look at that. I have seen more than
once that an installation had empty files somewhere, which would also be
a good reason for this issue.
