By default pressing the delete key will move stuff to the trash, so
there's a chance that unless you enabled the "show 'Delete' command'
option in Dolphin settings (which enabled the shift + delete shortcut
for deleting stuff) that your 1.5 GB of music was moved to the trash.

It works for me and that's about all I can think of as to why it doesn't
work for you.
