The only problem I had was due to the DVD protection not being
circumvented properly. It was a bit obtuse as to how to install libcss..
or whatever. At this stage I can't fault Ubuntu on any media stuff.
I've tried 8.10 32 bit on a notebook and the AMD 64 bit on a desktop
machine and within the limitations of what can be tested and only
testing the stuff I expected to break all looks good.
The notebook test was important as I had logged a problem with the
wireless network module that turned out to be a hardware fault.
Basically there was no Ubuntu problem. Having logged an issue it made
sense to check that 8.10 was OK. I couldn't get the run from CD going
with the Alpha but the result from the Beta was flawless.
Regards
John
